It provides one-on-one counseling, workshops, and assistance in using employment resources for job seekers who have criminal convictions or are incarcerated in Montgomery County's correctional system.

Disability Program Navigator Initiative increases the ability of one-stop career centers to serve customers with disabilities. Disability "navigators" work with one-stop staff, partners, and businesses to provide accessible employment and training services.

Montgomery County Customized Employment Public Intern Project for Jobseekers with Significant Disabilities was created based on the County's knowledge that people with significant disabilities often have difficulty accessing County Government positions. As an employer, the County recognizes that there are many job candidates who have much to offer but have difficulty competing for traditional jobs. To that end, the purpose of this initiative is to create flexible work opportunities for individuals to fulfill the work requirements of the employer. All County departments will have the opportunity to work with a customized employment consultant to identify and create part-time position descriptions based on the department’s need – without impacting the overall departmental budget. Individuals with significant disabilities will be matched to work tasks based on their interests, skills and competencies. The hope is that the public interns will gain job experience and training to be able to compete for merit positions here and at other places of employment.
